𝌀 packing

8 November 2014𝌀 packing

Another going-away present…this one will be a challenge to keep intact and carry halfway around the world in one piece.

I have been packing for the trip. There’s more stuff than I thought. Art materials, electronics, and books go in first. Clothes, only if there’s space. Priorities.

  1. The one who invents sketchbook and journals with no weight will be awarded, right? It’s a mystery how small things, bundled up, can weight so much when you have to carry them together…. πŸ™‚

  2. πŸ™‚ When the question “If you were a superhero, what would your special Superhero Power be?” comes up in idle conversation, I always say mine would be to take all my things and shrink them to the size of a walnut that I can carry in my pocket. I have never daydreamed about anything as fervently as I daydream about being able to do this. I cut down on weight by making my own sketchbooks, and none of them have covers (to be added later, when traveling by boat!) but still heavy…really, paint in tubes weighs a TONNE! But we must have them, mustn’t we? Forget toothpaste, clothes, shoes…these can be stolen from washing lines overseas. πŸ˜‰ But oh, lord, bring the watercolors and colored pencils!
